Hello from the Isle of Pines, New Caledonia

We are sending this to you via the Ham radio, so this will just be a quick update. We have spent the past week at the beautiful out island Isle of Pine with our Aussie friends Ara and Marios aboard Bubus. We've been having a blast snorkeling, having beach picnics, alternating dinners on each others boats and generally just relaxing and enjoying the wonderful weather and the post-card perfect anchorages.

We will be heading back to Noumea on Monday to get ready for the crossing for Australia. Peter will have 2 other crew members with him - one a university professor from Australia who we met in Vanautu and the other a 26 year old woman who is traveling the world on her bicycle and other "natural means" such as sailing. I have booked my flight for Coff's Harbour and will enjoy a week to myself getting a few projects done.

As always, we'll have daily postings once the crossing begins...either David or Barb will do this, since I won't be onboard. I'll update the blog with pictures early next week.
Enjoy the wonderful last days of August.
