El Cid Marina

We've had a great 10 days here at the Marina El Cid. I'm now off crutches and getting around really well. All the boat projects have been completed and it is now time to cast the lines to cross the Sea of Cortez. It won't be that easy to leave the amenities here at El Cid!!!

In addition to meeting lots of new people at the marina, the highlight was having Jodi (from the office) come to visit for a day with her family. They were on a Mexican cruise that had a day stop at Mazatlan.

Jodi & Peter - just like old times!

Mexican transportation back to the cruise ship.

The crossing will take approximately 32 hours...the seas this morning are calm and it looks as if there will be light winds. Our landfall is a bay called Los Brailles. We will spend a few days here visiting with our old friends Kate (who used to work with us at the office) and her husband Lee. They have a home in this bay for 6 months each year, so we are looking forward to catching up with them and getting the "local flavour" of this area.

Next check in spot.....La Paz....approximately 10 days from now. Until then, have fun!
