QuickStar's journey

Captain Peter Bruckmann and First Mate Diana Young (also often acting as the Admiral) set sail from Vancouver in August 2007 aboard sv Quickstar, a 46-foot Beneteau. Each year we have ventured further across the Pacific, while returning to Silver Star Mountain, in Vernon, B.C., Canada for the ski season (and to reconnect with family and land-based friends). This blog explores the highs, lows and adventures of life at sea and the wonderful countries visited.

Why sharks swim around you!

Two great white sharks, swimming in the ocean, spied a ship in distress.

"Follow me, son," the father shark said to the son shark and they swam to the ship. "First we swim around them a few times with just the tip of our fins showing."

And they did. "Well done, son! Now we swim around them a few times with all of our fins showing." And they did.

"Now we eat everybody." And they did. When they were both gorged, the son asked, "Dad, why didn't we just eat them all at first? Why did we swim around and
around them?"

His wise father replied, "Because they taste better without all that shit inside them!"
